So I guess my plans of opening up a Bottoms Up coffee bar are now dashed.
Cap the cup of joe with a shot of Old Grandad?
Perhaps I'm not sophisticated enough to worship at the altar of Starbucks. Every time I go, I'm left with a mediocre experience at best. I had a meeting in the Big House the other day and stopped in at the new Library Starbucks around 3pm and got a medium unsweetened iced coffee and a protein bar that turned out to have almost twice the sugar than protein.
$6.20.
I waited 15 minutes for them to pour coffee over a cup of ice and I could not find a straw of any kind so I had to go back to my office and dump it into my water bottle.
While it did taste ok, the cold brew I make at home with a Brita filter and a big pickle jar is better by far.
And remember boys and girls, at this Starbucks: no cash. Cards only. Rumors of payday loan services remain as yet unsubstantiated.

i get you with most of what you said but you do know why many places are going to card only. Cash can be stolen by the employees. Knowing a couple of people that own some franchises, one of the biggest issues they have is employees stealing cash. It is why all these places are also going to online ordering and ordering by touchpad as cannot have employees screwing things up that way either.
I think the real reason is that soon, a $20 won't be enough to cover your bill.
