Likability and actual journalistic ability mean nothing. Steven A Smith gets more attention with his shouting and abrasive over the top statements that some who had thoughtful commentary that most people agree with.
I made a career of beating this guy up. But when it comes to knowledge and inside relationships, someone like that 6PM ESPN clown can't hold a candle to SAS. She doesn't know squat and doesn't know anybody. Stephen A became a caricature of himself for sure, but he knows the game and its people. His delivery is shameful and there is a lot of look at me, but the guy did earn his place unlike a lot of morons on that network.
