*excellent work by the coaches.. I don't think I've EVER seen our rocket screen BLOCKED that well (still can't run that traditional screen that Joe used to run... would like to see that incorporated...esp with improved RB's..but our OL would probably get ate up by backside DE at this point.. we don't seem to be able to chip on the non-play side to save our life as of yet..we whiff too much).. God forbid we could hit 2-3 WR's in the numbers.

*Hack left 80 yards of screen passes on the field again.. there are HS wing-T teams that can't throw a lick that can hit that pass at an 80% success rate. And no, I don't want to hear the coaches don't know mechanics... b/c Hack spends 1 month per summer teaching/working camps--it's simply mental.

I will have to blame the coaches a bit, they should realize that their QB is mentally shot and can not throw screens or slants.. even the one successful slant that we threw all year was thrown badly and the WR had to waste time securing the ball.. that was the difference between a long pass that we hit and a TD. Hack can throw a hitch, or a deep out. The 3rd quarter deep in RU territory is some of the worse football I've seen. Hack misses the WR on the screen, and then runs and doesn't hit the sticks..and then blows the sneak by not being patient.. that is HORRIBLE QB awareness and play all around. He'll never be an NFL guy, unless he learns to throw slant or a screen. Throw in McGloin's PSU tape and Hack still is only about 65% as accurate as McGloin.. and his ball placement is even more on target.

*still to much shotgun look.. we are so much better out of the i... time to recruit a FB and add that to the package.

Laviano.. a noodle arm.. seemed to have better QB awareness than Hack.. he hit all of his short stuff and we couldn't sack him all night, he was competitive and didn't get rattled--our DL coach did a bad job.. they should have rushed LANES instead of collapsing the pocket..an easy adjustment. The kid from Buffalo would have carved his own defense alive if he'd been playing QB for PSU.. he could REALLY throw the short stuff.

BTW... both Temple and Buffalo are simply better than Rutgers.. Buffalo would beat RU on a neutral field and Temple would clean their clocks in PisSKATaway.

*TE's.. use Carter more, he can catch.. Giseki literally has horrible hands.. we miss Brenneman bad. The day that MG makes an above average catch... will be the first day LOL. Between Jesse James dropping 1/3 balls last year and Giseki they have been a constant headache. It seems this 3 star kids coming in has hands.. let's get using the Pitt kid that we took as well.

*my bad, I really understand how good Haley is.. he was a calming presence on John Reid, and Reid excelled. Probably the best pure corner I've seen at PSU.. he is like Justin King with DB instincts..

*Lynch.. the best back on the team the prior 2 years (not saying much). I admire the kid, the competition has really sparked the kid.. he has some pride. Lynch is a DECENT back.. he runs hard, he stays in shape... but he plays by numbers, he simply runs to the called gap.. when he tries to improvise he get's in trouble, as he has limited lateral quickness (that would seem by he was recruited highly.. but not super highly) and he is a kid that simply has to trust the play call. He hit that whole last night.. and man did he hit.. I think he realizes that if he doesn't make plays he will have more than Barkley taking his reps.

*Mark Allen... why? does he bring the coaches donuts in the morning.. was encouraged to see Scott finally get a carry.. it's time for Scott to pass by Allen and fast.

*I like Polk, but at this point #3 Thompkins is stronger and more decisive. Both seem to have good hands, but it is a grease fire every time Polk lines up.. he does not know the plays well enough. In fact, it's time to get Thompkins more involved in the passing game.. Blacknall is currently wasting snaps.. I would encourage Blacknall to learn how to line up pre-snap.

*why is GOPSUSPORTS.com such a cluttered piece of garbage.. the ads and clunk-ability reminds me of something AOL would build. Go check that POS out. The frozen title header is garbage, and their are appearing chunks of wall that get in the way as you navigate.

*Zettle might be trying to do a bit too much.. he seems to have read his press clippings a bit much.. he will improve.

*Joey Julius is FAR ahead of schedule.

*Chris Gulla.. my and CJF's player of the game.. the Pasq garbage Rugby kick..

*cut the garbage out... the sideline violation after 29's return last night cost us.. and the stupid call where we let's Rutgers out of bad field position in Q1 early was just DUMB.

*LB's were lights out last night
