Suriano out at nationals...

I really feel bad for the kid. The way he was wrestling, he could have made a pretty significant statement as a FR.

It would take a miracle for them to win the title now. Next year you have everyone back, save for Gulibon- and should have a healthy Suriano and Cortez (133).
Miracle?

Projected point totals - if all wrestlers perform to their seedings:

Penn State (WITHOUT Suriano) =
121 Points + whatever points they can get from projected "non-AA" Gulibon (141)

Okie State =
123.5 Points + whatever points they can get from "non-AA" Rogers (165)
(Okie State will almost certainly be leading after Day 1 - - - - possibly by a significant margin, due to the incredible depth of potential AAs. But tOSU and PSU should both begin to reel them in a bit on Day 2, when the # of wrestlers left in the Championship hunt begins to dwindle)

tOSU =
105 Points + whatever points they can get from "non-AA" Rodriguez (125), Pletcher (141), and Bucher (165)

An uphill battle? Sure?

A miracle? Hardly.

Glad you have it all worked out. No need to really wrestle at all, just give the trophy to PSU.

"....Projected point totals - if all wrestlers perform to their seedings....."
(which, FWIW, don't even point to PSU being the favorite)

Try to not be a dick, and a complete moron.

Or not. :)

Thanks so much. I have a wife who is struggling with cancer for the second time in three years so you might want to cut me some slack.

Sorry to hear.

Losing Suriano hurts, but with our bonus potential, a win is still very possible, maybe even likely. Should be fun.

I think it now rides on 165, 174 and 184. Gotta get one of these guys into the finals. Hopefully 174 is working on stamina. He was tired in SV.

3, 3, 2 there, Nick 3, Mouse AA, Zain and Nola winning, with standard bonus....can be done.

Yeah he does, he has to be smarter against guys like Jordan. He's tall and a tank and probably weighed 190 by the time they wrestled.

While this is promising, it needs to be noted that Ohio State will get bonus points from Snyder, Moore, Bo Jordan, Tomasello, and possibly Martin.

While Oklahoma State will get bonus from Brock, Heil, Collica, Jojo Smith, Rogers, and possibly Weigel and Boyd.

PSU will not be the only team getting bonus points.

For PSU to pull it off, Gulibon must score some points, one of Hall, Joseph, or McCutcheon must wrestle above seed, and we will need an upset or two of Oklahoma State and Ohio State along the way.

It's not unreachable, but it's going to be very difficult.
