After all the Ferrari nonsense I thought it would be nice to talk about a kid killing people on the mat and doing it right. Fernandez is only a freshman in high school and just won women’s midlands. She teched her way through the tournament and beat some big names. In the semis she notched a 12-1 tech over Aurora’s top-seeded Lexi Janiak, a 2023 U20 World bronze medalist and 2023 NCWWC (NCAA) finalist. In the quarters she beat Nichole Moore of McKendree. Moore is a 2022 U23 National champion, a 2023 U23 World teamer, and a two-time NAIA All-American for Baker. pretty ****ing incredible for a high school freshman especially at 130 lbs. here is FLO’s article about her and other high school age girls who placed at midlands.
