Sasquatch comes out of hiding, but not at PSU ...
oh well, it's been fun to speculate about him for the past few years.
surprised to see he's going 285. if that's his plan, I can see why PSU was not the team for him.
ASU is going to be formidable, to say the least. What an amazing recruiting class they have put together.

No mention of PSU. Sounds like Iowa State and the Illegal Back Fisters were in play.
This will be interesting for a number of reasons: he's not planning to shirt. And he'll probably be a lighter heavy -- he wrestles 96 kg / 211 lb freestyle, and I doubt he's going to bulk up to 120 kg / 264 lb.

This will be interesting for a number of reasons: he's not planning to shirt. And he'll probably be a lighter heavy -- he wrestles 96 kg / 211 lb freestyle, and I doubt he's going to bulk up to 120 kg / 264 lb.

Whoever mentioned Hall and Lee said they were working out next to each other - not hanging out. Semantics, perhaps, but cm was the other way - all PSU until he was not. Lee is keeping his cards close.
Long way to go, but I like our chances.

Lee and Hall worked out next to each other on a mat, and maybe they did hang out a little.
On the other hand, Cenzo and Kemerer definitely hung out with each other for a full weekend official visit to Iowa, including sharing a 10-hr car ride each way to/from Pittsburgh. Cael got his man.

I would be disappointed if he was planning ongoing 197 but at 285 it's understandable why PSU really wasn't a consideration.
Zeke is really loading up. Hard to believe the program was almost dropped not that long ago. MSU needs to take note of what can be accomplished in a short period of time if they actually made an effort in wrestling.

So ask yourself which of ASU's recruits Cael really wanted:
- The Valencias? Yes. But they're from Los Angeles and ultimately wanted to stay closer to home.
- Shields? Cael got Nolf and Manville at his weights.
- Maruca? Cenzo destroyed him at regionals and again at states.
- Benick? PSU wasn't after him.
- Hall? Maybe before his mission. Since then we got Nevills, and Hall wants to go heavy. The Flo article did not even mention PSU. For that matter, it also did not mention Iowa or Tanning Bed U. or Okie State or the Goofers or any other top powers. ASU, Iowa State, Nebraska, that's it. One might ask why the current top powers all passed or didn't appeal to him.
So then look at Cael's recruiting record and ask yourself: in 6+ years, which PA guys did Cael push hard for but not land? The ONLY one is Marsteller -- who chose to get as far away from his family as he could. Lee faces none of those family issues. You never know until they sign, but the sky is NOT falling.

Great coach, good weather (and the attendant hot girls wearing skimpy clothes traipsing around campus), and, very important to explain this year, open scholarships out the wazoo. Zeke had to stock up. He won't have nearly as much leeway with schollies going forward. ASU is still a 3rd rate academic institution - quite a change from Zeke dealing with UPenn kids.
I'd find it near impossible as a college kid to stay away from all the temptations on that campus - imagine the added discipline needed to be a D1 wrestler.

As I said, we are at Ground Zero for wrestling talent - like being in Dade County, Fl or Harris County, Tx for football, but then surrounded by a series of other hotbeds.
