Seems like this has been in the works for a while. Doug Whaley had not been addressing the media in the weeks leading up to the draft ... it's been all new coach McDermott. According to the local newspaper the Buffalo draft was a success. But then again they need more than just good (or right) players.
They were smart and didn't fire them until after the draft. Had they been fired before the draft, they could have been hired by another team and potentially used the Bills scouting reports on players to their advantage.
