Dad: No sense in trying to argue that. But the lead attorney in the case said Paterno did exactly as he was supposed to do. But the kids won't care. We don't have many deep thinkers in this country anymore.

This really is too bad. As adults, we have learned how to cope with the uninformed mob, but it's really unfair that a child is exposed to this kind of "guilt by association" groupthink. Just tell her that the cases were tried and we learned that JS was a sick individual who acted alone. It won't be enough for the mouthbreathers in Columbus, but it's all we got.
