It is the irrelevant poll now that the CFP is out. However, Cinci BARELY beats a 3 win Tulsa team at home and remains #2 (absurd ranking, there are plenty of teams better than them). PSU wins a game @ UMD by 17 and drops a spot from 22 to 23. I love their consistency!

Well at this point of the year some of the coaches who have a chance at the playoff get one of their people who vote for them to make sure they ranked their conference opponents slightly higher to pull up their strength of schedule.

AP I believe is sports writers not coaches. Coaches have their own poll

Are we really going to go through the poll to whine 2 weeks after losing our homecoming game in 9 overtime’s to Illinois? Cincinnati hasn’t lost through 9 games. When is the last time we could say that? 2008?
can I whine instead about people using apostrophes in plural words?

It’s such a joke, but I would love to be in Cincy shoes.

Also, no mention of Bama staying at 3, even tho they struggled with LSU and had a battle with Florida this season?

...and ranked below two other teams with the same record as us that we beat this year...go figure.

I like the Massey Composite rankings since it includes lots of different polls (which helps eliminate biases form individual polls) although, as someone else mentioned, the CFP rankings are the only ones that really matter.

Bama gets the CFB equivalent of the Delta House "legacy" treatment. They have to play their games, but they get into the playoff no matter the outcome. 😁

Looking at the remainder of their schedule, Bama should go into Auburn with only the one loss. TA&M should finish up with two losses. I don't think Auburn could win the SEC West by beating Bama (assumes Auburn wins out) but since TA&M beat Bama, if both teams finish up with two conference losses, I would think TA&M would hold the tie-breaker...and they beat Auburn as well. Of course, Auburn also has the additional non-conference loss to Penn State...don't know whether that comes into play with the tie-breakers.
