Thought the board would find this interesting. Found an article from Athlon about the top up and coming OC (from June 2015). Wanted to show how these hot names weren't super stars before and that most "elite" OCs started out as "no-names"

Here are some of the P5 names (also note who is on the list for DC - a name we will all like)

Ken Briles - no experience before joining his Father Art's staff. Now one of the brightest offensive minds in the game

Scott Frost - lb coach at Northern Iowa, WR coach Oregon, promoted to Oregon OC, now HC at UCF

Doug Meacham - bunch of D2 and FCS schools. WR/TE coach at OK St, OC for 1 season at Houston, now co-OC at TCU

Scottie Montgomery - Duke WR coach for several years, steelers WR coach for 3 seasons, now Duke OC. No play calling experience before.

Mike Norvell - Pitt OC for 1 year before going with Graham to Asu

Lincoln Riley - TT assistant (WR etc), ECU OC, now one of the biggest offensive names in Cfb at Oklahoma

Mike Sanford - biggest name on the list. Had a lengthy coaching career before going to ND

Point is, most of these guys had limited experience calling plays, let alone running a program, before getting their chance. Moorhead fits the mold of up and comer who just needs a shot. This is a brilliant hire in more ways than one. If the offense turns around like it did at Fordham, this guy may not be around long.
