While we're speculating about who the coach is, is there any speculation on who the replacement is?

That's a retirement, not a firing.
That would certainly put a damper on the luster of Rutgers Big10 performance.

Wisco--I think you and Lobo Lion are talking about 2 different things. Willie posted about some coach soon to get the axe. You informed us that Barry Davis is retiring. But Lobo is speculating about who is getting the axe (has to be someone other than Davis, who is retiring).
No I think we are talking about the same thing. News broke about Barry then Willie posts about a firing. Maybe Willie just mixed up firing/retiring. Or maybe Barry was told either we fire you or your retire.
I can't even bear to follow that dude anymore. All he does is blow smoke. So political, would be a bad hire imo for a coach anywhere.
With that said, he is a great wrestler and fighter. Would make a great assistant if someone could keep his mouth shut. Doubtful.
OK--I thought Willie knew of a real firing upcoming. If he was referring to Davis's retiring, then you were talking about the same thing. I'm sure glad we got that straight!
BTW--we got our picture taken with Davis at last year's NCAA's--he was very pleasant!
A "retirement" is sometimes just a polite firing.
So, does Wiscy elevate Brandvold or does Rutgers' Pritzlaff take the Wiscy job getting Goodale off the hot seat?
If you click the link WiscoWrastler provided, the release from Wisconsin states he resigned, no mention of retirement. Sounds to me it was one of those "mutually agreed upon" parting of ways.

IMO, not if it’s before he wants to retire.
The other one I love is “ he is leaving to pursue personal interests.”
As the smart people say, guns don’t kill people, uh, bullets kill people. Firing is the firing of the gun. Retirement is the bullet. Or something.
