I was at all 6 sessions and the wrestling was great. Things that probably did not come across the TV or even outside of the section I was in...
Day 1, during a challenge the ref picks up the phone dials the number and is waiting for a while... then says, "no body is picking up" in frustration/disgust. They resorted to using a cell phone for reviews for the remainder of the session.
Day 2, Larry Lee yelling at ref, "man on the bottom' gotta work" and then being really pissed when another fan yells the same thing when Spencer was on bottom. This was the quarter final match.
Day 3, some Iowa fan finally got it right when he yelled "stalling" at Angle Rivera during the 5+ minute review.

Did Spencer appear on the 6th-place position of the podium Saturday night? ESPN didn't show the medal presentations, as they normally have in years past.

Gotta love Lar! His son looked like a starfish under Noto - probably was expecting a gut wrench.

Sadly they didn’t show them. It’s not they didn’t have plenty of time. The thing was three hours long. And Spencer deserves to be shown in 6th place just like every wrestler who earned their place.

It’s hard to argue against a team title, two champs and seven top three finishes as they best thing about 22/23. But with so many returning scorers, for me, it is the peek into future PSU wrestling successes to come.

As others have said, watching Beau and Shayne both win 3rd at the same time, side by side on the stream, is one of those memories that will stick with me. For those of us at home, it was really cool.

The best thing about this year's NCAAs...

1. Spencer Lee getting pinned. Not because I wanted Spencer to lose (which I did), but because that's why I enjoy watching the sport so much. It's why I yell at the TV and why my wife thinks I'm an idiot. I'm generally a lurker on this board because I don't want to get caught up in all the predictions. I just like to enjoy the wrestling because you never know what can happen, and even when it goes as expected, it's unbelievable to watch.

2. Shayne Van Ness. In my opinion, Shayne wrestled the NCAAs like Cael speaks. Always moving forward. Don't worry about getting taken down. Be fearless. If you're going to lose, lose because you put it on the line. It's hard to say this with Levi's performance and all the other amazing performances this year and in past years, but I don't know if I've ever been more impressed than I was by Shayne. He took it to Yianni and never stepped backwards. He had the better gas tank than everyone. And to come back on Saturday and win two more tough ones, just unbelievable. I can't wait to see him keep coming forward next year.

3. I still don't know what to think about Kerk. He has tremendous talent and is a physical specimen, but you don't see the fire. Maybe that's just who Greg is, or maybe getting up from bottom with a 250+ pounder on your back is harder than it looks. But I just don't get him. He's great buddies with Aaron and Carter, and I can't figure out why he doesn't exhibit that same fire. He came out of the gate with some fire, and I said to myself, OK now it's real for Greg. But he just didn't exhibit the fire in the semis and finals. It's very hard to be critical of a guy who finishes 2nd at nationals, but I just can't figure him out.

4. Levi. What a talent.

5. BB - great tourney. Aaron/Carter - ridiculous how good they are. RBY - went from good to all-time great. Facundo - don't give up on him, he's got the talent and the desire and the greatest coaches on earth.
