The Cardinals are the Patriots of Major League Baseball!

If the league really wants to stop this stuff the penalties need to be substantial. But I'm sure it will be a wrist slap. So why not cheat !

This is much more serious then deflate gate. Hacking is a federal crime. If found true, the Cards are going to be in trouble. Could they be banned for a season or 2?

This seems to have the potential to be huge, huge deal with potential severe penalties for the Cardinals. They've got the Feds on them.

It's funny how so many of you are bent out of shape about the rush to judgement of Paterno, but seem perfectly content to condemn the Cardinals on breaking news and headlines.

Gotta agree with you on this. Let it play out, and to be honest, if true it probably has little to do with their success over the years.

Most of what I've seen here, and elsewhere, has been tongue in cheek. Most of what I saw regarding Joe was not.

The Astros have sucked for the past few seasons. If the Cardinals wanted to hack into a database there would have been some better options out there. I realize it likely would have happened when they were in the same division but come on St. Louis!! If you're going to hack at least make it worthwhile.

Not so sure about that. This could get ugly for them.

I hope it does get ugly for them. I really hate "cheating". I do not believe winning is what "it's all about".

I could no longer be PSU if I learned we were "cheaters" as NC has been. I prefer losing with honesty.
Plus, I do not buy into the "everybody cheats". Maybe I'm naive :)

Of course everyone doesn't cheat...just the winners cheat. :D

I get what you are saying, but what has been leaked so far about the Bud Norris trade, it don't look good for the Cards. Deadspin has some stuff up.

Hacking is a lot more serious then deflating footballs or video taping a practice.

Spygate wasn't taping a practice. That wasn't done. The guy who claimed he had the tape never produced it. The douchebag reporter at Boston Herald retracted his story. John Tomase. Spygate was filming something
52 yards across the field from you in broad daylight. In front of 85k fans.

^^Then why did our owner, which has been reported in both print and TV, tell the NFL Commish to destroy the tapes? Which Paul did do??

You drinking the Patriot BLUE KoolAid again Magoo??

Kraft didn't tell him to destroy the tapes. Goodell decided to do that. You want to know why?
If they release the tapes, everyone has the benefit of the Pats tapes. They can't be destroyed.
The league didn't want anyone to do it anymore. Once something is released and online.
It's out there forever. I figured you'd know that. But, blaming a loss on Spygate helps you Yinzers
sleep better at night. Not the fact they were outplayed.

Arlen Specter wasn't convinced. There was an admission of guilt from Hoodie, and yet the only evidence was destroyed. Why weren't the tapes simply locked up somewhere?

Nothing to do with sleeping at night.

Everything to do with integrity and getting into and dealing openly with a renegade.

Arlen Specter.......LOL. Let me ask you. Why keep something around if you don't want anybody to see them eh?

You do know it's still ok to film signals right? You just can't do it from certain areas. Sideline, coach's box, etc. Nothing illegal about mounting a camera on the 50 yard line with a clear view of the other sideline and filming it.

That's kinda my point. What was in those tapes that you didn't want others to see exactly? A few signals, formations or whatever that would have to have been changed anyway now that the Pats knew what they were? Goodell's reason for destroying the tapes was BS.

That's really the heart of it for me. It's far too easy to explain away cheating as "they would have won anyway"......"they were the better team". None of the matters to me. What matters is integrity. I actually like the Patriots because, unlike some teams (my hometown Steelers, for example) Kraft paid for the construction costs of their stadium. That aside, they cheated and to me their record of accomplishment will always be tainted.

No, I meant OUR owner: Rooney advised Goodell to destroy the tapes (evidence).
