And what have they done with that sacrifice?

There were 63 freshmen who qualified for the 2021 tournament, thereby earning the first of five potential bites at the apple.

Of those 63 only 25 have earned All-American status at any point since.

There have been:

• 7 four-timers
• 2 three-timers
• 7 two-timers
• 9 one-timers

And we are not done with this group yet.

Despite this being the fifth tournament they have been eligible for there still many with eligibility left.

• Everyone's favorite soldier saluter, AJ Ferrari, leads the way with two more years of eligibility after this year.
• Rocky Elam, Taye Ghadiali, Lucas Byrd, Chris Cannon and Dylan Ragusin have another year if they ask for and get a medical.
• It looks like only David Key (Navy), and Ben Pasiuk (Army) left a year of eligibility on the table by only using four.
• Of those finishing up this year Kyle Parco, Cam Amine, Wyatt Hendrickson, Trey Munoz, and Michael Beard have all exercised their freedom of movement by finishing at a school other than where they started the potential five-time journey in 2020 or 2021.

I don't think it addresses that one way or the other, but with the lack of the Ivy League at that tournament I am not sure how anyone could argue it was not watered down. In the two tournaments prior the Ivies had 6 and 7 AAs. In the two tournaments after they had 6 AAs each year.

Another objective data point is Iowa has not won a team title since 2010 that has had Ivy league teams competing in the tournament.

Sucked for Mark and Cenzo no doubt. But the worst was Kolodzik. If I recall correctly he was expecting to redshirt that year and they took him out of redshirt in January or Feb only to have it cancelled and lose his last year

If they showed up in your kitchen wrestling you would be warranted watering them down. I am pretty sure HR would demand you give them a flag to hang despite everybody knowing PSU would have won the slush kitchen wrestling Olympics by using the water to turn the event into a grand old fun time playing slush and splash dodgeball.

Man the Covid year sucked balls didn’t it? Robbed us of the likely national championship rubber match between Luke Pletcher and Nick Lee. Also sucked for a guy like Kollin Moore who was the clear favorite going into his senior year but never again got that last chance.
