I’ve seen competing opinions on what you call Bo’s winning move Saturday night. Perhaps it merits a new name that we can agree to use whenever someone hits it going forward. We have catchy names for other famous moves — eg, the bow and arrow, the cement mixer, the spladle, the granby roll, etc. What would be a good name for Bo’s move? Some ideas:

The Nickal Back
The Bo Back 2 Back
The Bo Nickal
The Nickal Flip

Nickelback was an awful band.

Ness made this a bit more famous, but we always called it a high-flyer or gator bacon (coined by Ness).

Yeah, Gibbons had it coined after a guy in the 60s, or we could call it the Schalles. But I guess Bo did "improve" it by letting go of the hold for a bit before going back to it. Not sure I've seen that before.

I think Gibbons mentioned Rico Chapperelli as someone who won similarly.

think “NickelBack” would be good one ...Crop ...love reading the stuff you post here and on the gopher board but disagree a bit about the band ... they wrote a lot of stuff I can’t stand to listen but on the flip side they wrote a lot of stuff I really like to listen too

Certainly one of the all-time highlight moments in NCAA Tournament history, both for the move itself and it's importance in deciding the team champion.

Other all-time highlights that come to mind:
Gable losing his final match
Rob Rohn from Lehigh trailing 14-3 and getting the pin
Cenzo Joseph over IMar last year

Others?

Still pissed that some of the resident old-timers on here didn’t acknowledge my Byrds shoutout.

They’re probably still in a haze like Wavy Gravy from the 60s

One more year of this young man before he heads to the next chapter, hopefully wrestling-wise, it's local :).

I'll be sitting back, relaxing, and enjoying every second of all the wrestling action next year, though particularly Jason and Bo. Picasso and Rembrandt, artists, while most others are somewhat mechanical by comparison.

Oh yeah. Before I miss them I am going to enjoy every match they wrestle next year.

But once done those two will be sorely missed. Bo is my grandsons favorite PSU wrestler. I hate like hell to admit I have a favorite, but Jason Nolf is the man. The oldest generation likes the way Zain just brutalizes everybody. I kid him that next year he will have to find a different favorite to which he snorts I don't have a favorite it's just I like how he makes other really good kids quit.

Funny you mentioned these artists, Roar. When I first started this thread I was trying to figure out a way to use Michelangelo or the Sistine Chapel in a clever name for Bo’s move since his opponent inevitably ends up on his back staring at the ceiling. :)

For all intents and purposes it really still is the cement mixer. He lost it and and went back into and finished it.

But that’s boring, huh? How about the Buffalo Nickle. Or the 5 Center. Or the Washington? (Is Washington on the nickel. Does anybody even know what a nickel looks like anymore?)

I meant anybody else pin Martin ... "pinned by Bo" isn't very exclusive.
Either way......it would be so funny to name change that move to the Myles High....simply due to the immediate recollection of the moment. Heheheh.
