The Open (Tiger)

Is anyone watching it on Peacock right now? Just watched a guy go from one bunker to the other. Hilarious.

It's the par 3 hole #8. Every group that plays it goes right into that same bunker. One group had all three balls in it.

LOL... The guy just bounced one off the bunker wall. Seen it twice now. It's beautiful. EDIT, and he just got out to roll it into another bunker across the green.

EDIT 2: It was Nieman. Was one under, now 5 over. Oops, carded an 8 as he missed the short putt. 7 over.

that is "the postage stamp". It is only ~ 120 yards so one of the shortest holes in all of major league golf. The problem is the green is very small and sloped toward the pock bunkers. While short, your landing area is just a few square yards. I haven't been watching but when you combine wind, humidity, and the speed of the greens, you are looking at potential nightmares.

Peacock is stationed there. They will cut away to other holes, but this is the focus. Wind is over 20 mph.

You can clearly see the green is shaped like a mound. If you don't hit that area you noted, it's rolling off.

And in the "oh by the way" category McIlroy had a terrible first two rounds and missed the cut. I wonder how much/how long his U.S. Open meltdown hangover will dog him?
