The stripe out has the makings of an interesting game. I am not planning on going to the game, but I would prefer to sit in a blue section if I was. It sure would be nice to come away with a convincing win over Rutgers. First things first, let's take care of Temple. It is September and football season is upon us!

Honestly, at some point, you feel like you are being manipulated by these "special" events. The white out is a great example of something that kind of occurred spontaneously by the fans. To me, this is another example of PSU and the B1G trying to make a rivalry. It looks gimmicky.

I won't be there for a lot of reasons. I'd probably participate just so I didn't look anti-. But I have no interest in this as a fan.

I will only participate in this if there is an official reversible PSU Stripe Out tshirt.

Ideally said shirt is designed via an online competition of students.

Then sell it to me for $24.99 with "proceeds" benefiting some charity.

The Rutgers game is not a rivalry. You cannot have a rivalry when one team dominates.

Rutgers may win a game every now and then, but I would guess that they would be lucky to win 20-30% of games with Penn State into the future. Similar to what I think PSU's track record is likely to be with Indiana and Maryland.

This is stupid, imo. Stick to the whiteouts...leave the stripe outs to other schools that are trying to come up with something to rival the whiteouts. It isn't even a total stripe-out as the student section doesn't have any blue sections.

I'm wearing white regardless of what section I'm sitting in.

It would have been easier to say "Even seats Blue; Odd seats White." or EBOW. No one could screw that up and it would have the same striped effect. Instead some idiot Penn State Engineer (I know a lot of them) had to make it difficult and go color by section. And then the peaker: the tool they made asks " What section number?" When the only sections in Beaver Stadium have LETTERS.

Hey Leal, God put us engineers on this earth to correct stuff that isn't broken! :p

Besides, engineers usually don’t follow the status quo or community rules, just the codes. Most people don’t know what the freak we do anyway and leave us alone.

First rule of engineering - if it ain't broke, then you have not messed around with it long enough. Second rule of engineering - throw out the directions and figure it out yourself.

BTW - I am in a blue section.

WHU

So, apparently I'm wearing White. I hope we pull it off. I have doubts about the Whiteout in November as well.

You really want to make an impact, you do "Shirts" and "Skins" for an early September game. You will have standing room only and the biggest national audience in CFB history. (Imagine skins part of crowd doing wave.)

From what I remember of the people that I have sat near, if they go skins/shirts I'd just as likely stay home!

You only need to stay home if you and they are in the skins section. I would hope you are okay sitting next to them while they have shirts on!
