Russian sports minister:

"How do we know the hackers are Russian? You blame Russia for everything now, it's the in thing."

At this point why not just ban Russia completely from all sports affiliated with the IOC? Olympics are over. Just move on with world competition until they get their act together. Remove their opportunities to compete. Athletes that move to other countries, so be it.

Was a great in-depth article on the mindset of Russia, particularly in relation to sports, but politically as well that I read somewhere - can't remember where. Spoke to a lot of the things Cael spoke of - culture of cheating and corruption to ensure prominent standing in the world. I'll try to find it and link it.

I know there are cheats in every country of the world, but they are "swimming against the stream" for the most part, as it should be, in terms of enforcement and reaction when exposed. When it's completely opposite in a culture - I don't need to see that countries athletes compete.
