The sadder state of "stale" posts on this board. The latest beer-related

post prompted me to make a suggestion regarding how long, over-beaten posts should remain on the board.

I hereby propose that the mods assign a shelf life to all posts, such that once they reach 2+ weeks of age, they get tossed like sour milk.

It's just a matter of time until the latest craft beer vs. light beer thread devolves into juvenile, name-calling waste of precious board space, especially on Page 1 below Tom's Stickies.

Uh, don't the most active posts get moved to the top?
So you're saying - if a lot of people are engaged and active on this site, then we should put an end to that as soon as possible?

What if there are 20 threads going on, and only 1 of them is interesting to me - but it JUST so happens to be the one that annoys you?

It's one thing if its a pi$$ing contest between 2 people that drags on for weeks, but if some people are having fun - and if you can't tell that the "juvenile, name-calling waste of precious board space" can just be people having a little fun with each other - then by all means PUT AN END to that fun as soon as possible! I mean, you wouldn't want people, you know, spending a lot of time on this site or anything!

Is there really a shortage of board space?
