The shipwreck that changed history has been found

The one that blows my mind is the German U boat found right off the coast of NY/NJ, that the Germans said had sunk in WWII off the coast of Madagascar!! They were literally in the NY harbor at the end of the war trying to defect. You can read about it in a book called 'Shadow Divers'.

That was a great read. I've heard talk someone optioning the film rights. Normally I hate when they make a movie out of a book that I enjoy, but that one has great potential for the screen

well if you've read that, have you read 'The last Dive' about the Rouse's from Quakertown, they were lost on a dive on the U boat. Kind of sad story.

Seems the French sent an armada to establish Florida as a French colony in the 1500s. Its was destroyed by a hurricane and Florida never became French. I had never heard about this before.

Here's the story ; https://www.yahoo.com/news/ship-wrecked-off-florida-might-changed-history-093747040.html

The French navy has had some major disasters in its history. Napoleon's fleet was destroyed by the British off of North Africa trapping Napoleon and his army in Egypt. The French scuttled their fleet when the Germans occupied France in WWII.
