the sanctions have been a bear, but I think when I look back over my 30+ years it has been QB transitions. For whatever reason we have had a tough time replacing even serviceable QB's with serviceable QB's. Fusina, Collins, Clark, Hack.. who else was great? Oh the dogs... there were a plenty.
What is really tough about the situation is that Joe sat on top of the recruiting world for a 15 year stretch--pretty much able to pick who would be his QB.... yet QB play probably cost him 2-3 potential MNC's.
I'm hoping the new regime will have a better track record in identifying and coaching up QB's.. it would be great to look forward to watching our QB's instead as opposed to slamming malox with a beer funnel just to make it thru the games. Seeing that we have 2 QB's that could run our scheme makes me feel better. This goes back to my earlier post where running a pro-style offense holds back the overall team, as even great QB's can ruin perfect seasons when you put that much on them.
