The Trace McSorley myth part deux (short)

;)

For the record, I wrote that McSorley was special. He's going to keep popping up around the league for a few more years. Couldn't be happier for him. Hope I get to see him play some meaningful snaps out there soon.

The title of my post referred to the myth that James Franklin believes. He believes that he can build an elite program with gritty, underdog, diamond-in-the-rough QBs. McSorley (almost) proved the myth for him. But even someone as special as Trace couldn't make it happen.

Not sure he “believes “ what you say but he probably has no choice as the top players go to Bama, OSU, Georgia, etc.

Yea I’m pretty sure Justin fields was elite. If I recall, the coaching staff tried pretty hard to get him.

I'm happy for Trace being able to continue to pick up a paycheck. BUT there is nothing special being a 3rd string or backup QB in the NFL

what?

there are 32 teams so you figure there are maybe 100 quarterbacks in the NFL out of how many quarterbacks who are of the correct age range and who played college ball?

yeah being on an NFL is nothing special....pfft.....losers

And considering the long shelf life of QBs--some guys have been going 15-20 years--it's probably a 1 in 80 proposition for Power 5 starters...and about 1 in 200 for G5/FCS starters.

That's pretty special. And I just saw an old thread about Trace's August injury which may have bumped him from the Ravens' top 3. I'd love to see Trace go out and "McGloin" this thing. Hang around until he gets his shot...and then do a solid job for a few years.
