While the shitshow of the month is the Urban Meyer morality play, this is just a piece of a much bigger pile of poop that is OSU athletics. Over the last few years we had the marching band sexualized environment requiring them to fire the director and stop road games for a year. The marching band is funded and administered by athletics at OSU. We have the sports doctor and the wrestling issue. We have the diving club coach and sexual issues including Olympic athletes. And now we have this. Of course we can reach back further to tattoogate etc. but these four are very recent.

These all show a lack of leadership, a lack of control, a lack of risk management, a “it’s all ok as long as it stays private” environment. None of these issues above were self identified by OSU. They were all brought forward by the media or the victims. AD Smith and president Drake are at the core of this culture. It’s a shame that lame duck and limp dick gov John Kasick has no interest in the reputational failures of his states flagship university. You would think at some point he might have some questions.

I see OSU up close. I have sent athletes there. My son went to med school there and has close view of athletics, I know coaches there. This is a large issue that the administrtion and conference should be interested in but we know why they are not. Ignore the cash cow.

For what it's worth, some dude on the Mark Packer show on ESPN College Sports radio the other night said the Governor's office is involved, it's just not public yet.

As an Ohio citizen I hope the Gov is involved. Urban is its highest paid employee. And several others including AD, bb coach, are in top 5 in the State.

correct...sadly.

and while I nor anyone else really knows, these texts are really damning. If anyone connected with the tOSU program, or university, contacted her and talked her out of calling the cops or going public it will be a major story (and Urbs will be gone gone). If Urbs goes, the hiring of guys that are marginal, tied to scorned programs like LJ, Schano and Wilson, it will be a total seachange house cleaning. If that happens, the AD and the rest of the programs are at risk. Especially with the Tressel era problems in the recent past.

Now I am hearing the school is trying to negotiate a settlement to keep her from going public.

My goodness, could be looking at the biggest B1G football event since 2011.
