As stated before, I am on our company's DEI committee and this whole DEI thing has become an unfortunate "label". Worse, it has become a way for people to make money. Obviously, this dude talks the talk but doesn't walk the walk. My position is that hiring has to be done on merit, especially when the hiring is for mission-critical positions with lives on the line. That but organizations can certainly have programs to help employees who were not fortunate enough to be born into families that teach them better job and life skills.
