his latest "article" is as DUMB as they come. It starts off by saying he is hearing from "readers". I'm guessing there are two or three of us ? I read his stuff for the comic relief and a further example of his hate for Joe Paterno/PSU (which will NEVER die). So in short, his "article" is enjoy this year because YOU will not get another year like this EVER !!!!!! especially next year.

The way I read it is VERY negative (as he usually is, with backhanded compliments?), In short, he does NOT want you to get too excited for next year. Because you are more likely to fail because of those expectations.

He NEVER writes a truly positive article. He should write and article SAYING how wrong he was about PSU the coaches and the players AND the fans. How about that PSU football is back and under Franklin ????

The idea that Penn State fans "cannot enjoy" the season due to a close loss to the 2nd or 3rd best team in the nation, on the road, in a road game, with two starters out, and two more injured, seems like a backhanded jab at the PSU fan base.

As I have said, I like Dave, but his work at the end of the season, when PSU became an elite team, by surprise, seemed vaguely reactionary, and slightly mean spirited.

Sorry, that's how I feel about it. He is nothing like Herbie, but in this situation, his work seemed similar to Herbstreit, in that, when Penn State became not only a threat, but became an elite team again, their tone changed toward us.

The article was reflective, benign, even complimentary.

I'm not a fan but hell, today's piece was in no way negative toward PSU. Basically he said savor this past season because it was very special, a surprise and unlike future great seasons PSU fans might experience because the expectations in the future will be much higher because of the great job Franklin et al have done.

I think his readers are Bob Flounders, the twat from Altoona and maybe someone from the Pittsburgh area, so yea they probably did say that. LOL.

I haven't read the article, but expectations are a funny thing. Anything short of a BIG championship game and a CFP run for PSU in 2017 will be viewed as a disappointment by many. Look at Michigan for Exhibit A of how easily fans' view of a season can sour when a team falls short of expectations.

I don't see expectations being low for PSU for quite a few seasons ahead, so we logically won't see an "unexpected" run to a title in the near future. Personally, I consider this to be a good thing, and perhaps we have now FINALLY come full circle from the days of "fans need to lower their expectations". Hallelujah.

The people who do this literally cannot help themselves. It's like their addicted to outrage and have to scream about it to everyone, and it backfires because it gives whoever is criticizing PSU, Joe, etc. Its ridiculous.
