This Hurricane Helene is no joke. Category 3 and looking like it will be Category 4 before it makes landfall near Tallahassee. Yet a whole bunch of saps are planning on riding out this storm in place. 20 foot storm surge in some spots, and Florida is flat as a pancake. Not good.
I just watched some video of a bridge called the "Matlacha Bridge." Water is pretty much level with the Bridge right now, and it looks very much like the storm surge will simply wash it away. Hope they get some help right away. They're gonna need it.
