As long as there are two in a weekend they are going to split.

The day after Groundhog day will be telling.

I keep wanting to take an afternoon and go to a practice to see how things shake out in the room, but schedule so far hasn't allowed.

My guess is there are enough intangibles involved that this is nowhere as simple as fans believe it to be.

This is the great debate but in my eyes I don’t see how Shakur doesn’t get the nod. I like them splitting this weekend with Cassar getting the go against Rutgers but ultimately I think Shakur should be the starter. Especially if he gets another pin this next go. That said, at the end of the day it’s a nice problem to have.

Given the proximity of where Cassar grew up to Piscataway, it would be excellent to have him wrestle Sunday. It's still about a 40-45 minute drive for his parents (I have a friend who lives in the same area), but a lot less of a drive than State College.

I'll get the 3 hours to State College Friday and the shorter drive Sunday as well. Looking forward to it.

I would have to think the position has been settled although I could see Cael giving Cassar a home match.

Another thought is that given the injury history of Rasheed and Cassar it might not hurt to have them both sharp.

I’d definitely want to see Rasheed vs K. Moore.

Moore might be more polished & ranked #1, but Rasheed has shown an aggressive pace and can connect someone’s knee to their own forehead from anywhere.

Dude is dangerous and definitely has a puncher chance.

This is where the dilemma arises. I believe the staff knows Cassar can beat Moore, but there is that nagging doubt about whether or not he wrestles to win or to not lose.

I also believe they think Rasheed may be able to beat Moore, but there is some concern about the size.

Very Spykeresque of you nit.;) All kidding aside, it would be interesting to hear how things are going at practice with those two.

I think you make a great point! Cassar is aggressive uses his speed on his feet and commits to his shots he can beat Moore--if he goes defense careful mode Moore wins.

Likely hood of Rasheed forcing a cradle on Moore is slim, Size difference really kicks in 3rd period.

Cassar has a 26% bonus rate with 4 majors, 0 techs and 0 pins. Rasheed has an 82% bonus rate with 2 majors, 2 techs, and 10 pins. I think Cassar has 4 close top 20 wins while Rasheed has 5 dominant top 20 wins.

If giving Shak more duals improves his chances come March, then my vote is give Shak both. If keeping him fresh is the best bet, then I'm ok with that also. I'd think more duals is the way to go.

Does anyone know for certain what year both Cassar and Rasheed are in the PSU program? I've seen different claims due to injury, reshirt or not, etc. Are they both sophomores or, alternatively, juniors, or is one the former and one the latter? Both have been injured, and I'm curious if either could conceivably get an extra year because of that. Thanks.

How they project head-to-head against Moore shouldn't be a factor.

Our 197 rep is going to wrestle 4-6 matches at nationals. Moore might not even be one of them.

We need the guy with the highest scoring potential against field.

Rasheed will wreck the bracket with bonus if he ends up on the back side. It remains a difficult decision since I think they both occupy the same spot on the podium....but that bonus potential is tasty....
