The 10 take-aways from behind the TV.
1.) Trust Cael and his assistants.
2.) If you haven't succeeded by 23, it's time to move on with your life. Don't be 24 or 25 and postponing your life, especially if you are married or wearing a shoulder sling, arthritis doesn't need help.
3.) The beatings will continue until the morale improves in Iowa City.
4.) Next year will be more tears for the Hawkeyes and the Wolverines. Sucks especially to be a Hawkeye fan, knowing a "loaded up" team finished No. 3
5.) RBY's post match interview was tantalizing. (All I want for Christmas is RBY in a blue singlet.)
6.) Parris and Cassioppi are overrated, Schultz and Wood were under rated and Schultzdeserved the No. 2 seed. He'll be a problem again next year, especially if he lays off the carbs. Davison should get some kind of award for taking down Gable for the first time while still being listed as 197 on the NW roster.
7.) Never, ever complain about Shane Sparks' hyperactivity again. ESPN is insufferable with their Ivy League Obsession (they collectively left due of pseudo-medical panic and anybody that stayed and lost the year= whether because of the expected value of the elite school degree or misplaced loyalty chose to lose a year) and Cormier's terrible commentary that escapes and stalemates are victories; the goofy metaphors and the "f bomb" he had to have scrubbed. If they would have at least had J'Den Cox, who is a better commentator.
8.) It seems like Gable is a decent guy and he has every right to exploit his skills any way he wants to-but the comments that he was doing something for the sport of wrestling were wrong; he was building his personal brand for fake wrestling. I still wonder if he'll go noir and be a heel.
9.) Max Dean made the right choice coming to Penn State; who knows how things would have gone for Shane Griffith if he would have rewarded Stanford's faithlessness by heading back East.
10.) Now what the hell do I do until November?
And a bonus from Mrs. Rebel:
Nicky Pushups looks ridiculous in the Bo Derek hair.
