See the link below. From the article:

"LANSING, Mich. -- Three former Michigan State football players charged with sexual assault crimes accepted a plea deal in court Wednesday that could keep the trio out of prison.

Josh King, Demetric Vance and Donnie Corley all pleaded guilty to felony charges of seduction in an Ingham County courtroom Wednesday. King also pleaded guilty to an additional felony of surveilling an unclothed person. Neither of those crimes require the guilty party to register as a sex offender."

If the ncaa will not step in, then michigan state should voluntarily suspend their football program for a minimum of five years. The entire university community, including athletic supporters and alumni, need to put aside football and spend time focusing their energy on what is most important. This is not a time for michigan state university to be thinking about football.

Given the numerous other transgressions in michigan state athletics that has festered into an unhealthy culture of sports above all else involving the entire community, including athletic supporters and alumni, I would hope that other spartans programs would follow the football program's lead and also suspend competition.

Karen Truszkowski, a Lansing-based attorney for the victim, said her client was not interested in speaking publicly about the situation because she wants her identity to remain private.

“Part of the reason she doesn’t want to go public at this point is what has happened to the women in the Nassar case,” said Truszkowski, referring to the more than 200 victims in the Larry Nassar sex abuse scandal.

“They have been crucified. Not by the media but by members of the Board (of Trustees), etc., and she is not willing to deal with that now,” the lawyer said. “They have been awful to those women … the comments that some of board members have made and the way MSU has treated them.”

Seduction????

Did they play Frank Sinatra records on a Victrola and pop some bubbly or something?

That is a hell of a plea, from rape to 'seduction'. I'm guessing a whole lot of men and women in Michigan will be spending time on probation if that becomes a thing. What's the Statute of Limitations?

Anyone else surprised that seduction is a crime?

So many people try to equate the Nassar and Sandusky scandals but the similarities end with both happening at large state universities. Consider....
  • The MSU BoT disparaged the victims. The PSU BoT believed everything and threw money around to make the problem go away.
  • Nassar preyed on MSU students in MSU facilities. Sandusky preyed on non-students and rarely on university property.
  • MSU victims made contemporaneous reports to university officials. PSU received at best an ambiguous report from McQueary.
  • MSU officials quashed victim reports by telling them to be careful what they say or there would be consequences. It ended there. PSU officials passed the vague information they knew on to TSM where Sandusky spent his time.
  • MSU conducted an internal review which was headed by a friend of Nassar. Not surprisingly, no wrongdoing was found. Said friend (Strampel) was recently arrested for sex offenses. PSU hired Freeh to do a hatchet job in order to blame everyone except the BoT power bloc.
  • Officials at MSU made very real attempts to cover up Nassar's activities but nobody seems to care. At PSU, it's been proven no cover up ever existed but everyone seems to think it did.
  • The NCAA and B1G don't want to touch MSU with a ten foot pole. They had no problem piling on PSU.
The list can go on but you get the point.

Exactly. MSU will be on the hook for maybe 3 times the amount that PSU paid out. People like @michnittlion will do their very best to present this as proof that the OG BOT was 3 times more effective in crisis management, but in reality it's just another false equivalency to promote the same false narrative.

That there was no Joe Paterno to blame at MSU is the only difference that mattered

Great list! I'd like Delaney to address your points.
