no, one of them IS NOT better control of athletes

The helmet communication we knew was coming due to Michigan’s cheating.

Not a fan of the 2 minute warning. College football is already losing its identity. The last thing it needs is to move further to NFL lite.

I don't disagree but college football went to the faster clock until the 2 minute warning where the clock stops for first downs. This is a major change from regular time to the last two minutes. So I think this is good for the teams to be able to gather themselves in that change, it adds strategy and doesn't extend the game very much given the shortening of it last year. the NCAA probably likes the additional commercials.

And it will probably be one of those new 4 minute breaks......They are really fun with the countdown clock inside the stadium.

The 2 minute warning sucks in the NFL, so why adopt one of their worst features? Just finding ways to add more commercials.

Actually, I think not having a two minute warning adds more strategy.

We’ll have to agree to disagree. I think that there is a major strategy change at the two minute mark now that first downs only stop the clock in the final two minutes

Plus coaches will have to consider their strategy as the clock approaches 2.

But they get a free time out…they have to think further ahead if they don’t get that free time out.

And with the shorter college game, plus not stopping the clock for first downs except in the last two minutes, I am ok with it. In addition to the last two minutes being so different from the rest of the half. Good time for a potty break!

My guess is that’s the only reason they are doing this. More money.

Of course, they’ve previously claimed games are too long and needed to be shortened. Problem is they cut down the actual playing time while putting in more commercials and stoppages.

They’ll end up not changing the real length of games- just alternating how much time is split between actual play and time outs/ commercials.
