I think it is inevitable that fall sports seasons for college will be canceled. We are observing conference after conference canceling. I don't think it will just be the fall because what will change between now and the spring? Even if they come up with a vax, they still have to test it, manufacture it, and distribute it which is going to take longer then the rest of this year.

when did anyone think there was going to be a vaccine in the fall? I don't recall the NCAA, schools, etc ever saying we needed a vaccine to start playing when they announced their plans in May. a vaccine for the fall season seems like a very new requirement.

there are some people who know this field on this blog, and a few have even questioned whether there will EVER be a real vaccine. does that mean we never have sports again?

Easy decision for those conferences. They will saving money. Power 5 will be losing millions.

Yea, P5 aside, most other schools and divisions just don't have the funds to pay for the constant testing of athletes and additional costs for cleaning and sanitizing their facilities.

Some of the Group of 5 schools may, but even those at the lower rung may have a hard time. And also for the most part you need to have all or no sports, you can't say "well we will do football, but all the rest of the sports tough luck".
