I have always been amazed that Tom Osborne, former Nebraska head coach and now a member of the Football Playoff Committee, has not been torn down by the public.
In 1994, the media and coaches wanted to give Tom his first national championship since Joe already had two. Lawrence Phillips was the star RB of that team. During the season he broke into teammate Scott Frost's apartment and assaulted his old girl friend and dragged her down three flight of stairs. This was one of many criminal acts by the Nebraska team. (link below)
Osborne left him on the team so he would not get into more trouble. That was a joke and Phillips is now being prosecuted for allegedly killing his jail cellmate. (Link Below)
Osborne also was no friend of PSU. When the Sandusky crap came out in 2011, he said he was afraid for his fans to come to Penn State.
How does this guy continue to be respected in college football circles and how can he be on the College Football Playoff Committee when he does not even care about criminals playing on his team?
Anybody else bothered by this hypocritical person?
