Pretty laughable considering that PSU has finalists in half of the finals, leads the team race by over 30 points, etc... ESPN are such @ssholes about PSU, they've done everything they can to low-ball how badly PSU and Pennsylvania wrestlers are dominating this Tournament and tonight's session. ESPN is run by lowlife douchebag's -many of them jealous dicks from SorryExcuse and other "little brother" former Eastern Independent Majors in the Northeast. Didn't show a single PSU finalist in their closing shots despite PSU having 5 finalists??????

I am glad our guys are acting like they have been in the national finals before..... Even if only one has. Tomorrow night you can flex for the camera if you want........I would rather just win.

Not talking about the wrestlers, I'm talking about ESPN's intentional bull$hit coverage to miscast how badly PSU and Pennsylvania wrestlers are dominating this tournament. ESPN's coverage is so slanted and tilted, you would never know that PSU is blowing away every other team by a huge margin or that PSU has far-and-away accumulated the most "bonus points" and clearly been the most offensive-minded and "dominating" team in a wrestling sense.....or that PSU wrestlers dominate the finals - half our freaking team is wrestling in the finals! We have a 6th All American still alive for the Consi Final !!! ESPN showed practically every other finalist in their closing shots except for a single PSU finalist -- showed ZERO PSU wrestlers in their closing shots despite half of PSU's team being in the finals?!?! But you have Bozo Baldwin (he's from Long Island and went to Cornell) telling us about how great NY Wrestling is Dake, Gwiz, Cornell.....blah, blah, blah never mind the fact that PSU is going to have won 5 of the last 6 Titles.....Pennsy has twice the number of wrestlers (and ultimately All-Americans) in the Championships then the next closest State.....half of PSU's team is wrestling in the finals 4 of PSU's 6 All-Americans are from Pennsylvania....but no New York wrestling clearly dominates the world....blah, blah, blah

Baldwin has said repeatedly that he went to Binghamton, but you look for offense like it was a truffle.

ESPN is filled with jealous, petty jock-sniffing pussies, pricks and douche bags who intentionally have given PSU and Pennsylvania zero credit or coverage, let alone the overwhelming majority of the coverage they deserve for absolutely DOMINATING not only this tournament, but the entire wrestling scene for quite some time. ESPN doesn't "like it" so they do everything they can to slant reality the best they can..... Their coverage of how this Tournament has gone through 4 Sessions has been so patently intentional to give PSU as little headline time as possible, it isn't even funny. In this morning's coverage, the 197 lb televised coverage on ESPNU was the only weight where they showed the #4 Seed Burak's match instead of the #1 Seeds Match (MacIntosh). Again, THE ONLY WEIGHT CLASS they didn't show the #1 Seed as the "feature match" at the weight (the only one they televised on ESPNU) - instead they showed the #4 Seed.

I just take it that those who know the sport and the ones that count know PSU is top dog and PA wrestling is just superior to other states. It gets proven year in and year out. I could care less what a network who does not understand the sport thinks.

Yea, I hear 'ya, but pretty pathetic considering that ESPN advertises themselves as a "sport-centric" network. In essence, like you said in your last sentence, "the worldwide leader in sports" (ESPN's self-ascribed monicker) has proven they don't know jack or have any insightful commentary whatsoever regarding the "sport" of wrestling....

Honestly, who cares? Find something better to bitch about.

All that is state here has truth but on the flip side there are so many fans who can't come to the NCAAs that have that opportunity because ESPN is providing coverage. I can live with us being dissed in exchange for air time!

Wow tell me how you really feel ok. Take your heart meds calm down ok .

As long as the Penn State logo is displayed prominently during all of those finals appearances, I couldn't care less what colors are shown over the credits. If you can't be happy after a night like tonight, swallow the barrel dude.

Half your guys are in the finals and you're complaining that ESPN is disrespecting your team? You're making it too easy to root against you. To the other posters, thanks, the info you guys provided was super helpful. You guys make it hard to root against your team!! lol

Does anyone else here think Ian Miller's hurt knee was just gamesmanship?? lol

1st thing I thought when seeing the end of last nights session was we didn't have anyone who was totally "jacked" up after their semi match, so didn't get a shot. Win 2-3 tonight at they will show "the logo". We do have a classy group... no doubt about !!

There's always stalling not being called properly.;)
Yeah, no doubt; my own pet peeve has become the overuse of review requests by coaches, probably for the real purpose of giving their wrestler a lung timeout.
I'm not quite up to doing a full-fledged rant on this yet;), but I might be if it costs one of our guys a national title tonight.

Agreed, I don't know what a good solution is, but something needs to be done. A penalty point awarded to the opposing wrestler, seems to harsh, but outside of that, I don't know how you could deter this crap.

Maybe a stall warning/point if the call is not overturned

The problem with penalizing the wrestler is that most calls never get overturned even when they should. Most officials will not overturn a call that they made because in their mind they can't admit to the mistake. On legitimate challenges I don't think anyone has a problem with them taking their time and getting it correct.

Those are all a step in the right direction, but there will still be cases where say you are in OT and a coach thinks his guy needs a bit of a blow and if his wrestler hasn't been warned for stalling yet, the coach doesn't care about the warning or there could be situations where said coach does not care about the choice of position.

Kind of bull$hit that there are immediate 1-Point Penalties for "technical violations", but a coach can pull an intentionally illegal stunt like this without drawing a "technical violation" (e.g., challenging a call that is not challenge-able -- sure does sound like a "technical violation" of the rulebook to me).

I have to say I got a huge laugh out of Dake's interview. First, who wears a shirt with their own name on it? Second, his comments about being aggressive at the tournament made me laugh. I'm like dude, have you seen yourself wrestle? Yeah, you're a great great wrestler, but I'd rather watch grass grow.

To be fair, I think he was always pretty aggressive unless he was wrestling David Taylor.

Agree that PSU was absolutely dominant - but I will also add as a Cornell fan, I would gladly trade PSU, our bit of coverage for your dominance! ;)

Seriously, though, you have to consider - a runaway dominant performance plays well with one team's fan base, but will be something of a turn-off to fans of all the other schools - ESPN is doing the smart marketing thing - emphasising as much as possible the many story lines playing out, rather than just one big story. So, recognize that, and enjoy your victory - Penn State was incredible! But let the other Sisters of the Poor (like Cornell) enjoy their little spot in the spotlight, too.
