Nothing to get jealous about, but when I watched my recording of The Match, BTN Shane Sparks interviewed NATO and Snyder and then BTN awarded NATO with CK Outstanding Wrestler.

Ok, so courtesy, respect, results would suggest that in our house, you give a little equal airtime for interviews. Does CS not allow our guys to interview before or during a match during regular season? You don't go on a date and always talk about the another girl, do you? BTN doesn't have a problem with that.

NATO as Cliff Keen wrestler of the match, com'on, really? Yes, he beat Nico, but it was not dominant or even an exciting match. Isn't the #1 supposed to beat the #4 wrestler?

I looked for criteria on BTN and Google for CK WOM award and did not find anything. In another thread, I may put together a survey on MOW.

Did we get dissed by BTN?

I have often thought it should be referred to as the UMtOSU Network (with some other coverage thrown in to make it look good). Probably can't call it that though because UM and tOSU could never agree which letters would go first.

I try not to be a conspiracy theorist but yeah I thought the telecast was very one sided. Three or four times I could hear the refs whistle blow and they're showing a close up of Ryan. Get back to the freakin action.

In Conaway's match, you could clearly see the ref counting to 5 up to when he blew the whistle. I knew immediately why the action was stopped yet Gibbons was somehow mystified by this and acted like it was a questionable call.

LOL - That article was especially bad.
Little balance. Very homer-like.
But - Give them that consolation prize.

PSU got great coverage for this outstanding event, the sold out crowd and the #1 Penn State Wrestling Team's dominating win. I'll take great PR for the Nittany Lions any day.

One comment about other coverage of the dual. There tends to be lots of focus on ZPain, Nolf and Nickal. No problem with that as they are headliners. Others got good coverage too.

However, am a bit surprised and at times disappointed to not see Morgan McIntosh also get his due, as the #1 ranked wrestler at his weight.

Overall for writers, it's tough to give everyone on this exciting team their due coverage.

We are fortunate the media spread the news about Cael's teams' Exciting Pennsylvania Style Wrestling. We are also fortunate to have many good stories about the fine imdividusls on the team, both backups and starters.

Overall, the event and coverage were huge pluses for the Nittany Lions.

Not that I would wish for interviews with Shane Sparks anyhow; dude needs to switch to de-caf.

Cannot stand him. His intro to every interview is long winded and wordy. Intro is often longer than the athlete's response.

Wow, even the article was really centered on tOSU. Yuck.

Shane Sparks is probably my favorite personality in wrestling. That dude gives the best post-Fargo Finals interviews, or did, if he doesn't still do those.

You have a returning NCAA champion and a World champion. They wrestle for the returning NCAA champion team. I was not surprised those 2 were interviewed. I'm thinking plenty of headlines and interviews will come your way with all of there young guys doing so well this early in the career. It was a no brainer to interview Snyder as most people want to hear what he has to say. Nato won the biggest match of the night. Nothing to see here imo. I'm fairly certain it would have been Nico had he won that match.

No problem with NaTo as outstanding wrestler. No problem inviewing NaTo and Snyder. They are great wrestlers and deserve the spotlight. It is tough to see how not interviewing anyone from PSU makes much sense. Reading the article, one would assume Ohio State walked away with it.

Much like the officials in the basketball game Saturday night, folks know where their bread is buttered. It isn't talking about Penn State, even in victory. It isn't having Penn State beat Indiana in basketball. There was an old poster on the McAndrew board....Get Real was his handle, I think and eventually got banned. That said, he was and remains right......there is a narrative about the top teams. Don't mess with the narrative.

The narrative Friday night should have been.....holy crap there was a ton of outstanding wrestlers in this match. PSU had four and OSU had one....and they all showed up. Another OSU guy made a pretty strong case for number one. Of the six guys who made a case for number one, there is one senior.....everyone else is a sophomore or freshman. Penn State is dramatically deeper than OSU and there is a reason PSU is ranked number one.

Anything else is meaningless. I am sure there have been other matches where 6 number one's participated ( sorry Coon ), but I would bet it would be tough to find a match where so many of the potential number one's were soph/fresh. And yeah, I skipped BoJo on purpose. Toss him in there and the match was even more impressive....regardless of the outcome. Young kids are coming in and they are not waiting their turn.

That article is hilarious! No mention of any penn state wins! Pure spitefulness. I can't believe its on the BogTen network's site. What a joke
It posts like this that makes me question if people actually read the article of launch into a pre conceived rant.

I don't really care if the announcers gush over us or not. I'm just glad wrestling is getting more coverage.

If we keep winning championships PR will take care of itself.

I get the feeling Shane may be auditioning as an announcer for the WWF.......

The best I can say about the wrestling coverage on BTN and the B1G Conference site is that they don't seem to want to give any one conference member an inordinate amount of coverage.......even if one team is and has been rated the clear number 1 team in the nation throughout the season and is favored to win the B1G tournament and the NCAAs.......they don't seem to employ the same approach to covering other sports.....

Being deprived of live wrestling action being broadcasted for 40 years of my life, I am thrilled that we can see the dual meets. Between BTN, Annie, Flo, and Espn, one can watch almost every single PSU bout. It is a great time to be a wrestling fan.

You speak the unmitigated truth hl, we could always be waiting at least a day for news like in the old days. Flo, BTN, ESPN have really stepped it up for us wrestling junkies. We get to see more wrestling than ever before and I for one LOVE it.
