There is a post on HR asking for people to list their 5 most dominating wrestlers. Of course, there is Iowa bias, as Spencer Lee is on top of most of their lists, and they somehow can justify Marinelli being on the list (some of them), but, say Zain is more dominant than exciting (which I don't completely disagree with). Anyway, I wanted to see the take from this board.

Here was my post over there:

Spencer Lee at #1 and Marinelli being on a top 5 list are both bias-induced. I can at least understand Spencer, as he IS exciting, I just don't think he is #1 YET.

Now, with all that said, here is my biased take.

1. Jason Nolf - Honestly, unless it is because he is injured, I'm not sure how he isn't on everyone's list. He is among the most innovative wrestlers of all-time. The move he does off the single where he traps them on their back using his legs might as well be named after him.

2. Bo Nickal - It is impossible to not have your eyes on him when he is wrestling. You can't blink because he can hit big moves at any moment. He is also completely fearless.

3. IMAR - His speed and hips are unbelievable. His matches with Nolf were unbelievable, even when a lot of points weren't scored.

4. Seth Gross - The guy is always scoring points. He is creative and relentless.

5. Spencer Lee - I've enjoyed watching this kid for years, and I'm not at all surprised that he is wrestling at the level that he is.

Honorable Mention:

Kyle Snyder - Most exciting heavyweight to watch of all-time. His lack of mat wrestling slides him down a bit.

Shakur Rasheed - Small resume, but, when he has wrestled this year, he has been extremely exciting to watch.

Zain Retherford - I agree that there is a difference between exciting and dominant. I'm biased, but, I still find his dominance exciting to watch, just not on the same level as those ranked above him.

Austin DeSanto - It has less to do with the competition or even the results. He is fun to watch. He is relentless in his pursuit and has a phenomenal gas tank. If he becomes a better mat wrestler (especially on bottom), he will be tough to beat.

Kaid Brock - I have always enjoyed watching him wrestle. He is definitely exciting to watch.

Mark Hall - Some matches are extremely exciting, with headlocks and cement mixers, but, he can also wrestle methodically at times.

Zahid Valencia - I think he wrestles similar to Hall. Can load up points, but, can also methodically beat you down.

Have to think about a list but I do know Rasheed will be in my top 5. He does a lot of what other guys on the team does, looks to score bonus, always active but for me the excitement stems from his “story”. He came out of nowhere this year when no one expected him to be the guy at 197. It’s just pretty damn exciting seeing a guy like that knocking off ranked guys and slowly crawling up the rankings himself. Guys like him beating the odds gets my juices flowing. I mean, not to the point of a shirtless Cassar but close... ;)

Marinelli?

Solid kid, but it’s more exciting to watch paint dry.

A healthy Kemerer makes Marinelli seem comatose.

This is classic. Jammenz fails to identify one of Minnie's national champs from 2000, and Penn State fans, who didn't even start following the sport until 2011, according to Jammen, have to tell him that he misidentified the wrestler.

And, as if that wasn't bad enough, if one didn't know who the wrestler was, all they have to do is "Open image in new tab," and it identifies the wrestler.

One of the best troll-fails ever.

You never run out of people on HR who don't know anything about wrestling, that's for sure.
Nor will you find a more knowledgeable group. When you think like a hammer, everything's a nail.

Look past the crap on HR, and you'll find some solid and well-informed folks.

I didn't want to resort to this but felt the need. I know this is an anonymous board but I thought that people would finally love to put faces to screen names. Jammenz on the left and Vodka on the right. How many of you knew they were freinds?

Smalls set the hook and reeled him in.

Well, I couldn't find a pic of Brock manhandling a Penn State wrestler and I certainly didn't think this board would know the difference.

Re: Logan Storley. Those were the good old days when you could post the cumulative records of Storley, Evans, and Brown on multiple boards and Storley held the edge over all 3.

Until he didn’t

Look past the crap on HR? That's a good one. Anyone that can look past the amount of pure shit on that board is a wizard.

I'm pretty sure that Kokesh had the edge over them all.
