tOSU losing OL coach

Did a great job this year with the Alabama center and the injuries on the offensive line. However, during his 3 years he didn't recruit one five star offensive lineman. Prior to is acceptance of the job five star offensive lineman routinely committed to Ohio State. With the job he did this year, his recruiting probably would have improved. However, he is not a huge loss because of his deficient recruiting in the past. If Chip Kelly goes elsewhere, Ohio State is facing a major rebuild.

I had read it was the Bears. He came in with a lot of hoopla. The OL was still good by most comparisons, but recruiting was not high. From the PSU game on, he seemed to get them rounded out great. And that was with injuries at 2 or 3 spots.

I really think it was a combination of Chip Kelly and Frye that worked this year. Last year OSU really couldn't run the ball very well at all and when they lost one offensive lineman before the Missouri bowl game they couldn't move at all. I remember when Chip Kelly was at UCLA and was playing LSU close to the year that LSU won the national championship, UCLA dominated and ran all over LSU. I was really impressed with how UCLA played considering how the athletes they recruited were almost certainly not as talented as those playing for LSU.

Kelly has done a much better job at OSU than I thought he might. Good for you guys.

It will be interesting to see what Day does. He’s fairly young and is taking a victory lap with all of his media stops.
Maybe not right now, but he's headed back to the NFL. Not sure he's as loyal to OSU as many of their previous HCs as he's not a native Ohioan - just my guess, could be totally wrong though

Doubt he would even take their call. He has a loaded line coming back and loaded pipeline of kids he has developed behind them. And O$U can’t simply outbid us anymore.
Yeah, but let's be honest, OSU isn't exactly the sisters of the poor as they have a really strong OL coming back also
