Touchdown Saeed Blacknall

Our second most explosive player last year, boggles the mind how underutilized he was. Clearly put moves on Franklin's wife or something.

I love in preseason the announcers don’t care what is happening on the field. They just keep talking and interviewing as a long td is happening. I’ve seen it all year .

Agree. Blacknall came up with "so many" clutch catches for PSU. Still wonder why he wasn't used more. The Big 10 Championship Game against Wisky, he was a man among boys. That slant catch vs. Iowa on 4th down was another game saver. Then he ran a 4.39 at the NFL combine. Big, fast, with great hands.

Honestly, one of my favorite players of the modern penn state team. Big 4th down TD against Northwestern a few years ago. Just bigger and faster than everyone.

He made some clutch catches for us (Iowa) and came up big in some games, (B1G Championship) but then gets suspended for the Bowl game.
There were some outside factors that directly contributed to his playing time. I want nothing but the best for him but I'm not going to blame the staff for his "production".

I agree, he was a very good receiver and always ready to make the tough catch. There must have been a reason he didn't get more playing time.

That play is so "Blacknall".

Absolutely. 6-3, 210, super nimble for his size, great balance and hands, runs a 4.4. Makes plays. If he'd been able to get his act together, he might have been the best PSU wideout of this era. He will be an NFL receiver if he can get his act together now.

I remember one time in the B1G championship in 2016, they throw to the sideline on 1st down to Irv Charles, he drops it. 2nd down, they throw to the sideline again, Charles is open again and drops it again. So Charles comes out, Blacknall comes in. They throw to Blacknall on the opposite sideline, he runs the route perfectly, turns his body just right to shield the DB, sprints 30 yards in to the end zone.

Two weeks ago, during my lunch time run, as I was crossing under 183 in Austin and had to stop for a red light, and a homeless guy comes up to me. He points at my PSU hat and asks if I went to PSU. I said yes, and was expecting a bunch of sh*t (thank you BOT). But he mentions that his cousin plays for the Raiders and is from PSU. Tells me its Saeed. We chatted for a minute, and talk a bit about how great a receiver and person Saeed was for PSU.

Next day, I started taking $20 with me, to give to him for a meal (or bottle of whiskey or whatever). I usually don't hand out money to the homeless, but if some guy pulls out the Saeed reference, in the middle of Austin TX, I'm paying him! He is either the biggest BS con man, or he really is Saeed's cousin.

But, haven't run across him in the past two weeks. Hope to see him soon.

I guess I always saw him as a little bit stiff. He's tall and fast, but had very little wiggle. Then again he didn't have many balls tossed his way with SB, Mike G, and Godwin always ahead of him. Hopefully he makes the squad and has a good career.

That was a big league play!

I certainly get the argument that he was underutilized here. I don't have a ready explanation for it. He made some memorable plays. I'm glad he's getting his shot.

Truly great to see this. He was one of my favorite players. I wish CJF would've redshirted him - just imagine if PSU had him this year. Always had a smile on his face and always seemed to be the first guy in the end zone to congratulate the other receiver/player who scored. With his limited opportunities I always figured he could be the "complainer," but it wasn't the case. Best of luck to him.

Anyone know his odds of making the Raiders? I thought I read something that he was likely to make only the practice team.

I too would have loved to have him this year. Big, strong, fast and hands.
