Fact is the players won this game. Moorhead had a bad night, why throw a jump ball to smallest WR Polk? Where was jump ball to Gesicki in the red zone? D played very well but way too many big plays against an average QB. I have no idea what the defense was trying to do on Iowa's final drive, problem was neither did they, bad snaps on multiple FGs and XPs. I realize new players in place but that needs to be fixed. Offensive play calls were getting in way too slow especially in 1st half. You could tell our coaches have never been in that situation before. Coming into Kinnick as a Top 5 team in a night game on national TV. Every thing played out exactly how a superior team in college loses a conference road game on the road to inferior team, very similar to how we beat OSU last year. We embarrassed Iowa last year and they were ready for us. Most important thing is we won. That distinction goes to the kids. This was not as much a wake up call to the players but to the staff. Entirely different being the hunted going into the season. That is why Mike Farrell said what he did.
