- Izaiah Brockington , a former standout atArchbishop Ryan in Philadelphia, announced he'll transfer to Penn State in a Twitter post Friday evening.
Brockington spent one season at St. Bonaventure, where he averaged 4.3 points and 1.2 rebounds in 11.6 minutes over 34 games with one start. Brockington served a reserve role as the Bonnies went 26-8 and made the NCAA Tournament. They beat UCLA in the First Four before falling to Florida in the first round.
Last week, Brockington announced he was transferring.
The move to Penn State is the latest in an interesting odyssey of Brockington's collegiate career. Brockington originally committed to NJIT in August 2016 and signed that November. But in the spring, hedecommitted and received his release from the Highlanders, and then he announced he would attend Woodstock Academy in Connecticut for a prep year.
In August, though, Brockington signed with St. Bonaventure.
In his senior season in Northeast Philly, the 6-foot-4 guard averaged 18.6 points per game and helped lead Ryan to its first PIAA Class 6A semifinals berth. He was Ryan's third 1,000-point scorer and left the school with 1,242 career points and one of the most illustrious careers in program history .
Brockington helps keep Penn State's Philadelphia pipeline open. Philly native Tony Carr is going pro and Nazeer Bostick is transferring, but Lamar Stevens -- who played with Carr at Roman Catholic -- is back, along with Mike Watkins
