If true, Sealy seems like the most logical person. His name seems to have fallen off the radar. Best case, he may be the heir apparent at 165, but he’d have to sit 2 years (after his redshirt) for MMs last 2 years.
With Kasak, if PJ shirts, Kasak is our 157 for at least this year and next (me thinks). And I’ll guess that Tyler probably has confidence in himself to beat incoming freshmen challengers.
With Ryder, assuming he’d be our future 174 and 3 year starter, after redshirting, and waiting one additional year behind Levi. Or he stays at 184 and possibly battles with Barr.
Did Nagao use a redshirt?

I could see Kasak leaving but that is because PJ Duke is coming in next year and he is looking like the 2025 70kg rep for Team USA. But if Kasak starts this season that means both him and Duke could RS next year and he would likely stay and battle for the spot
The way portal rules goes these days (aka none), if the kids hate the environment so much, they don’t have to stay, they can leave as we saw with all the Iowa wrestlers literally before school started. Waiting a year makes no sense.

If you want to split hairs, Kasak took 3rd as a true freshman, SVN did as a RSFr. That might qualify to some as more accomplished. That said, it doesn't seem like this shit-sail needs any more wind at this point... Tyler is our starter right now, and I happen to think he can win the thing.

I read the RUcrackers thread. The only two wrestlers on the PSU roster who fit the criteria are Mitch and Levi. Neither are leaving anytime soon.
Since we are speculating on transfers. I could see Facundo transferring, but it isn't going to be to Rutgers. If he is on schedule to graduate, UM if he qualifies for grad school.
Iowa. Like I said above Iowa has no wrestlers comparable to Suriano. A quality transfer possibility is Arnold, no available redshirt and wasn't put on the mat at 184 against ISU. Rutgers maybe, could be a destination. Graduated from Iowa City HS, previously at Wyoming Seminary so maybe a Rutgers connection. Ayala is the most accomplished Hawk and has the potential to match Suriano's resume, but I find it hard to picture a lifelong Hawk is leaving anytime soon either.

The one that actually fits the mold the most is Van Ness. Especially since he "revised" (lol) his statement to say the guy DID redshirt. He is from NJ and his dad went to Rutgers.
But in his recent interview, he went out of his way to credit Nick Lee for believing in him, helping him through injury mentally regaining his confidence and saying how huge it is and happy he is that "his friend" is on staff. (so that goes against the "this wrestler doesn't like Nick Lee") He followed up by talking about gratitude, enjoying the process and lifting his teammates with him also (aka the epitome of Penn State wrestling)

Been a Claussen guy my whole life, doubly so as a Chicagoan... That said I have to admit that Grillos is starting to steal their thunder on the spear front. Nobody yet can touch the Claussen sandwich slices but strictly speaking spears I think Grillos has a slight lead. They've rested on their laurels and hopefully will step up their game with this new threat, similar to Rocky III when Clubber Lang came around. .

I enjoy both sweet and dill pickles. Apparently, I am a failure as a Pole as I don’t really like the taste of Polish dills. I just find them a bit overpowering and prefer traditional dills. I eat any pickle brand as long as they have some crunch to them and are not soggy and wilting when you pick them up.
Unless I misread it, I’m pretty sure his Redshirt revision was for the Iowa wrestler, not the PSU one. Not that it matters.
