I don't think he has ever mentioned the Monarch of Canada. It would seem logical the King would have to approve any change in sovereign status of one of his subjects. When has Trump notified King Charles III of England about USA plans to make Canada a State? Both Canada and England have a shared Monarch and have so for centuries.
Felon Trump needs to be less ignorant of history and geography. I'll bet few if any current WH staff/Cabinet are aware of the legal status of Canada.
