U23 World Championships

Not a lot of talk here about this. Moore, Fausz and Hemida all made the finals (Moore took silver). Interesting about Fausz, whom RBY tech'd to make the trial finals (and then Vito A. tech'd RBY twice). Transitive property notwithstanding, that's pretty cool.

Surprised Myles didn't get cleaner shot at a medal--though I don't know his Freestyle history as much.

Still not sure what to make of this event. Are other countries taking it more seriously than us (in the sense that many/most of our best under-23 talent don't even attempt to compete)? Probably--I know the scheduling must make it tough. I'm curious how long it will take Kollin to get back to 197 after wrestling 97kg.

Personally I don’t watch or care much for this event only because like you say, we don’t even have our best guys trying for spots.

It’s college folkstyle season as far as I’m concerned. Our coaches are getting paid to put the best product in the mat for the university and the wrestlers are getting scholarships from these universities to wrestle college folk.

I like how we handle it compared to some other schools. There’s plenty of time for freestyle after college season.

That being said, I’ll always root for US guys, but In back of my mind I know it’s not our best team. Unlike Senior, Junior Worlds where all the best compete to make teams

Appears yes, the rest of the world sends their best, and the USA does not always. Still, good to see the USA win some medals. I know you mentioned the guys that won medals, here's an article with additional info...

Now back to college wrestling.
