Amit Elor vs Wiktoria Choluj - Final Full Match U23 World Championship’s

Elor is definitely technically sound, but I’m going with a big advantage on strength is the game changer, on why she is so dominating. You can see when she grabs an opponent’s wrist and they are actively trying to free their wrist - they just can’t do it, unless she decides to let go.

Thomas loses 4-0. Down 2-0 in the second he shot a millisecond after Takahashi shot, and Takahashi easily scored. Thomas got to his ankles twice after that but couldn't convert.

Mini Yazdani looks like the better wrestler in this final against Elbakidze (GEO) but got caught flatfooted and wens straight to his back, now trying to dig himself out out of a 6-2 hole. A clean double makes it 6-4, but Elbakidze responded with a shot of his own, and staved off giving up a shot clock point. 8-4, Elbakidze 70kg champ. Fun match.

Carter up next against Babii (UKR) for bronze at 79kg. The 3-5 match isn't where he thought he'd be today but a good loss to learn from.
  • Carter looking front headlock, gets a step-out point. 1-0
  • Carter aggressive on the tie-ups, another step-out, 2-0.
  • Carter had a near side cradle, doesn't get the pin but gets a TD and exposure. 6-0.
  • Carter had a leg off a high-c but Babii rubber-kneed out of it and nearly scored himself.
  • Break
  • Babii on the clock, Carter the only one moving forward.
  • Carter again with a leg, again having trouble converting. Finally gets the other leg. 9-0.
  • Carter jumps at a leg, Babii trying to turn the corner, nearly gets there. Whistle.
  • Babii shoots, Carter stuffs it, light scramble, Carter jumps behind, 11-0, bronze medal.
  • Ref raises Carter's hand without incident.

Manashvili vs Masoumi.

GEO up 2-0 on two quick step outs. He is also a very large human.

2-1 on a step out. Body lock for 4, OOB, 5-2 Iran.

7-2 on a go behind. Masoumi is really quick.

8-2 on another step out. 10-2 on another go behind.

Break. Masoumi is really quick AND in great shape for a 125kg kid.

Step out, 11-2.

Go behind ends it, 13-2.

@NothingMeaningful denied the existence of Finger Lakes Community College elsewhere, despite it being a very real place.

The good part is that he would have been right and educational if he'd just said what he actually meant instead of tossing that off without googling! I learned something.....eventually (story of my life).
