Underrated Lions

Ethan Kilmer—- a walk on Shippensburg transfer receiver who went on to an NFL career and played safety and special teams. He was a 7th round draft pick of the Bengals in 2006. He played a few years as a safety before a thigh injury put him on IR and he was later released. In 2008 he was signed by the Dolphins but retired soon after.

One of my favorite players and best special teams gunners ever. He allegedly did 1000 push ups and sit ups every day. That's dedication!

I am going with Matt Rice. For those that don't remember, he played opposite Tamba Hali. Much like Deion Barnes, he willingly played the base end position knowing it would negatively impact his personal numbers.

You shouldn't joke, he is seriously under-rated. He was the offense in 2014 and 2015. Without Hack, we win no more than 3 games either year. He wasn't as good as we hoped he would be due to dysfunctional coaching but he is better than most think.
Nothing like doubling and tripling down on stupid. I seriously doubt you really feel this way, you’re trust trying to get a rise out of people.

I thought Graham Mertz was a damn great player for us. He is UW's Hack.

special teams demon Darien Hardy

he got screwed on a roughing the punter penalty at Boston College when he got a hand on the ball

Mother Dunn.
Your sig pic is one of my all time favorites and I would really like to have the picture blown up to understand the entirety of the situation. It doesn't appear to be one of your traditional "staged" model photos. The gentleman in the background is a curiosity.

The bigger curiosity is that anyone noticed the gentlemen in the background.

Royster and Richie Anderson are two great mentions. I’d throw Mike Archie and his fullbacks (Milne and Whitman) in there as well.

Evan Royster.

That kid got grief on this board for….no reason at all

Agree, Royster was probably most underrated player. He is top rusher in PSU history yet never mentioned with Saquon, Warner, Carter. He was blue-collar workhorse and had perhaps best 'feet in the hole' of any backs listed. He had uncanny ability to find a crease very quickly. He just lacked home run speed which we look great in highlights. His game against UM (when we lost 9? in row) was amazing.

He was so well rounded as a back. Did all the little things well. Could run catch and block.

I'm not sure what is meant by underrated but neither were underrated during their playing days, college or pro.
Yeah.....I took it as remembered. Or mentioned when any one discusses the greats in history. Hartenstine rarely gets mentioned. Which is a function of time. They played long before most here remember.

Along those lines here is another....Rosy Grier. Great athlete, ordained minister, he was the guy that grabbed Sirhan Sirhan after Sirhan killed Sen Robert Kennedy and took away his gun.
