In our June 3 "BWI the Magazine" issue that will be mailed to our subscribers on Friday, April 28 and Monday, May 1, Marc Narducci of the Philadelphia Inquirer has done an "Up Close and Personal" column on incoming Penn State freshman LB/DE Shaka Toney [ 6-4, 217] from Imhotep Charter High School in Philadelphia, Pa.
Narducci in that article indicates that Toney is now 6-4, 217 and expects to enroll at Penn State in late June at 6-4, 220. Narducci also is told by Toney that he will play at whatever position on defense that the Penn State coaches staff wants him to begin his Penn State career at.
Even though Toney said his favorite position on defense is defensive end, it now seems to be becoming a consensus opinion that Toney will begin his Penn State career at the Sam OLB position when he reports on Penn State's campus in late June..
Toney also told Narducci that one of the biggest reasons he selected Penn State over Pitt was a question his sister put to him when he was having a difficult time deciding to go to Penn State or Pitt. What his sister essentially asked him was the following: " Which school would you want to attend if football was not part of your decision process" We all know what his answer turned out to be.
