Spending a quarter million on a recruit is infinitely stupider than a kid getting a million dollar NIL deal. Make no mistake this is the sentiment that has brought us players getting paid. Understand that the kids didn't do this the pathetic sycophant adults did.

Coaches are getting paid an insane amount of money
Schools make an insane amount of money off college football
Paying kids and spending money on recruiting seems like "a sound business decision", right?

Anything for a buck....as long as we can blame it on the greed of today's teenagers....Right?
Things were so much better in the 70's when I had to walk to school up hill both ways....Wait? Huh...What?

How much tome did the players and their families get to speak with professors and academic advisors?
Who cares? They're disposable young adults for your viewing pleasure.
They arent going there for the academics.
They can get their degree online when they're 29 years old with the money they made from NIL and the job they got that they got from a booster that they are unqualified for.

Times change--we adapt. They're not going back.
And I'm not blaming the teenagers at all.

How many of them care about their education?
The question is, should they?
Should they care about their industrial education if they can focus on making money via athletics during their athletic prime....which is much more fun BTW....and could easily provide more funds than they could make in say the first 5-10 years of a "straight out of college, entry level job".
You can get a college degree from most any college from most any place, including your own couch, when you are 32 years old.
