Some of you have no clue who Tom Brennan is and some do. Some of you may remember Vermont upsetting Syracuse in the 05’ NCAA Tournament when he was the coach.
Tom Brennan in his first 20 years as a head coach never won more than 16 games, had 12 seasons with a below .500 record, never finished better than tied for third in his league and won just 12 games the year before he finally had a breakthrough year and won his league in year 17 at Vermont.
He would have 4 consecutive 20 win seasons, won 2 regular season championships, won 3 conference tournaments in a row which meant 3 consecutive NCAA Tournaments and in his final season beat Syracuse in the first round. He would retire after beating Syracuse andnow his name is on the court.
20 years and never won more than 16 games.
