Riveting documentary on the drive, the insatiable desire to win of Dan Gable. Couldn't stop watching. Chronicles the tragic loss of his sister, the affect of the loss to Larry Owings and his dominance in the sport of wrestling both internationally and at the collegiate level.

It's must for all fans of wrestling.
There is absolutely NO DOUBT Jaybird. Dan GABLE is WRESTLING in AMERICA. He's been a world competitor in wrestling, coached countless young men in how to be wrestlers, continues to promote wrestling everywhere he goes... I could on and on.

He's an icon of imaginable proportion. He teaches LEGENDS... what the criteria is for being a LEGEND. I had a pair of Dan Gable Ultra Flexes for years that were falling apart and I kept them even though they reeked of sweat from countless hours of wrestling practice, my mom threatened to throw them away and I hid them like they were PRICELESS ... because Dan Gables name adorned the side of my wrestling shoes and I could never part with them.

HE'S a LEGEND Of LEGENDS. Love his commentary for Iowa Public Television.

This lead me to watching Iowa: The Season (ESPN) afterwards, last night. It was a long night of Iowa wrestling, but it is a great documentary.

Saw Gable win his first title at Penn State in '68. He was a mild sensation, but an Okie State lightweight was OW. Okie State won the team title with Iowa State not far behind. Penn State and Iowa barely scratched the score sheet. We worked into top ten with Andy Matter couple years later, I think. Matter belongs well up the Penn State all time list.
