Here are the videos. This time around the playlist is "unlisted", meaning you can only access it by using the link provided below. I'm hoping this change helps to keep the match hidden from BTN's inspection. I will be recording the Northwestern matches today, but I'll hold on to them for a little to see how this goes.

Cool! Thanks a lot!

Thanks for posting Annie; but please be careful. Most right-holders put video "fingerprints" on their content.

YouTube uses a automated copyright takedown system that checks every video uploaded against a database of audio and video "fingerprints" submitted by rightsholders.

Most media companies (whose content isn't already on YT) use third party robot crawlers that look for digital fingerprints identical to their content. Robot returns URLs to company, company nukes video. This is why you'll often see reposted popular music videos with a deliberate "smudge" somewhere in the middle--to circumvent the crawler and YT's "ContentID" system (which scans all uploads against copyright 'originals' already on its system). Unlisted videos are not invisible to crawlers, but maybe BTN does it the cheap old fashioned way of conducting keyword searches.

It's weird, when YouTube described why the videos got blocked it said "manual". Not sure what to make of that.

I believe that probably means that Youtube's Content ID issued a "low confidence" match, which matches are sent to the rights holder for verification, upon which they're then taken down. Long weekend might mean that BTN doesn't see notice until Tuesday.

If the videos only stay up for a few days I still can't feel too bad. Obviously I'll lose "good standing" and I won't be able to upload, but I'm glad that I can help 1k + people see matches they wouldn't have otherwise been able to.

Thanks for posting, I really wanted to see Zain and Nolf! They are two incredible talents!

Byers is quite the announcer. He was going nuts at the end of Cutch's match, but my favorite line was at the end of Zain's second period when he screamed "Retherford is laying down the hammer!" He really does a great job in the play-by-play. Can someone fill me in his background and the "Ironhead" nickname? He has no Wikipedia page, and I can't get much info on him through a Google search.

Byers and watching the match is AWESOME! BTN should higher Byers.

Not sure what all you're looking for...
From my perspective, Jeff Byers is one of the treasures of Penn State Wrestling. He has the knack of making a listener feel like they are right there, on top of the action. It's a gift that I can't explain, but those that have listened to him understand.

Jeff started announcing Penn State Wrestling in 1990, following Dean DeVore, and has been at the mic ever since. Something says they shared duties for a couple years, I can't remember the exact arrangement, but do remember listening to both (I go back to 1973, when starting to follow Penn State).

"Ironhead" came from his younger days, and is somehow related to Craig "Ironhead" Heyward. He is also affectionately called "The Voice of Penn State Wrestling", or as Coach Cael simply states, "The Voice".

Thanks, Roar. Did he wrestle at Penn State?

Thanks Roar. Byers is right there with the great old school play-by-play announcers regardless of sport. Such a treat given what other schools have to accept in the same role. The Flo guys aren't necessarily bad, but they're not pros like Byers, who you sense could deliver the goods at a horse track, a hockey game, or an auction.

So, the videos have managed to survive this long which is an encouraging sign. I will be late to record and upload the match vs Illinois as I will be attending Cornell vs Lehigh Saturday Night and watching the Penn State match the following morning. I wouldn't expect video from Penn State vs Illinois until Monday, and possibly even Tuesday morning.
