Was talking with a Hawkeye buddy of mine and while he is super confident, he admitted he is a bit nervous that PSU could place higher at 133, 141, 184, 197, 285 at Nationals and 149/157 aren't Iowa's strongest weights either.

It was pretty humble statement he made so I didn't pile on and say "You that confident about 174?" 😏

I think he's under the impression we aren't getting many points at 149 and 157. He's also counting on plenty of points at 133, 141, 197, 285 definitely even if they place behind PSU guys.

Carter has an amazing attitude with lots of confidence. It will be fun to see him wrestle for the next 4 (Or 5 as this is a "free year") years.

He should have read the article in which DT raved about Carter. Since DT was an Iowa slayer he (the Iowa fan) could take much away from DT's superlative comments about Carter.

Is Brands expected to be the Iowa starter at 184 or Assad. I never go to HR so I have no idea, but Assad wrestled at BIGs last year, finishing well behind Brooks of course.

They wrestled at a HWC freestyle event awhile back and Brands dominated Assad. Could have been a shape thing, a freestyle thing, but watching the match it's hard to see Assad coming out ahead in a folkstyle rematch. But that's precisely why they don't determine a starting lineup in that fashion
